How To Inspect An HVAC System
Leave a message
.Start the thermostat and check whether all functions are normal. Ensure that both heating and cooling systems are turned off at preset temperatures.
.Turn off the circuit breakers that power the stove and air conditioner. The circuit breaker is on the electrical service panel. Shut down both units until HVAC inspection is complete.
.Check whether the electrical connection is loose.
.When manually checking moving parts, be aware of any squeaks or noises.
.Locate the condensate drain and check for blockage. Condensation accumulated during HVAC use must be properly discharged to prevent internal components from rusting. Clogged condensation drainage also helps bacteria and mold grow in the home.
.Remove and clean all air filters attached to the cold air return in your home. To improve the efficiency of air conditioning, clean it every 90 days.
.If your home uses gas, sniff for gas leaks near the gas connector. Check the heat exchanger or burner for cracks, abnormal discoloration, or deterioration.
.Check system for dirt and debris. The buildup of debris and dirt can affect the efficiency of the system. Use a small portable vacuum cleaner to remove any dust buildup.
.Check the air conditioning coils for dirt or dust buildup. Vacuum coil to improve cooling efficiency.
.Turn on the circuit breaker after the check is complete.
